Understanding data, cookies, and audience measurement

Public pages remain accessible without an account; an optional account enables personal features. If you write to the contact address, the message and details you choose to include are received to reply, investigate a report, or follow a correction. Do not send sensitive information that is not needed for your request.

When you create an account, we store your display name, email address, a secure password hash, chosen language, email verification status, relevant account dates, and acceptance of the terms. We do not keep the plain-text password or display your email address publicly.

Sign-in uses an HTTP-only, Secure, SameSite session cookie valid for seven days; a CSRF protection cookie is valid for 24 hours. Only hashes of session and link tokens are stored in the database. Verification links expire after 24 hours and password reset links after 30 minutes; both are single use. Account emails are sent through mail configured for ElectroDesignForge.

From the Account page, you can view or change your name and language, change your password, and delete your account. Deletion removes the account and its associated sessions and tokens. For a request concerning your data, email contact@electrodesignforge.com.

Google Analytics 4 helps measure visits and pages viewed. With your permission, Google may process online identifiers, technical data, and browsing information.

Your Analytics choice is stored in your browser’s local storage for up to 180 days. Without your agreement, or after rejection, no Google Analytics script loads.

The footer’s “Manage choices” link lets you change or withdraw your agreement. Withdrawal disables Analytics and removes Analytics cookies accessible to the site. Analytics loading is limited to anonymous visitors and excludes account pages.

Google AdSense is not active on the site: no AdSense advertising script is loaded.

The public visit counter and rating system use a random ElectroDesignForge-only identifier stored in an HTTP-only cookie for one year. It is used to count no more than one visit per browser every 30 minutes and to keep one editable rating per browser. Only a non-reversible signature of this identifier is stored in the site database; the application does not store the IP address there. Visit deduplication signatures are deleted after 45 days with no new counted visit, while the signature associated with a rating is kept with that rating.
