Understanding data, cookies, and advertising

The site does not require a user account. If you write to the contact address, the message and details you choose to include are received to reply, investigate a report, or follow a correction. Do not send sensitive information that is not needed for your request.

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, traffic and the pages visited. This measurement service may process online identifiers, technical data, and browsing information.

For visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the Google AdSense European regulations message, when shown, collects and transmits choices relating to Analytics and advertising.

Google Analytics 4 loads only when this message confirms consent for measurement, or when these rules do not apply. The message lets visitors accept, reject, or manage their choices; the footer’s “Manage choices” link lets them change those choices at any time.

No personalised advertising should be served in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland without a consent solution compatible with applicable obligations. Consent choices must be as easy to withdraw as to give.

The public visit counter and rating system use a random ElectroDesignForge-only identifier stored in an HTTP-only cookie for one year. It is used to count no more than one visit per browser per day and to keep one editable rating per browser. Only a non-reversible signature of this identifier is stored in the site database; the application does not store the IP address there. Daily deduplication signatures are deleted after 45 days, while the signature associated with a rating is kept with that rating.
